There’s something so special about a first birthday. It’s not just about the cake and balloons
it’s about celebrating a whole year of growth, milestones, and love.
Recently, I had the joy of being invited to a first birthday celebration that included a beautiful Korean tradition called a doljabi.
During the doljabi, different items are placed in front of the birthday child,
each symbolizing a possible future path or blessing.
Watching everyone laugh, cheer, and guess which item the little one would choose was such a fun and meaningful moment.
It made the day feel even more unique and memorable.
Between the warmth of family gathered together, the delicious food that kept everyone all happily full,
and the joy of celebrating such a sweet milestone, it was truly a day to remember.
I feel so grateful to have been included in such a wonderful tradition
and can’t wait to see what the future holds for the little one we celebrated.
