A Freaky Friday-Inspired Mother-Daughter Session for EGR Theater Boosters
When the East Grand Rapids High School Theater Booster Club reached out about donating a session for their upcoming fundraiser, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. The play they were putting on? Freaky Friday—a perfect fit for a mother-daughter photo session giveaway.
A lucky mom and daughter duo won the session, and we met on a sunny summer afternoon ready to soak in the warmth and make some magic. But, in true Midwest fashion, the skies opened up mid-shoot with a spontaneous midday downpour. Instead of calling it quits, we waited it out—and what came next was so worth it. The rain cleared, the light softened, and we captured some truly magical moments that felt like they were meant to be.
I’m so grateful to the Booster Club for thinking of me, and to this sweet duo for embracing the unpredictability with laughter and grace. I hope to have the whole family in front of my lens sometime soon!
